Hello everyone,

I have quite a big job on cutting G11 glass filled phoenolic. I'm looking for advice on cutting this material. Speeds, rpm's etc.

Thank you!

I would suggest you use solid carbide tooling designed for use on composites.
I would also get the feed rate as fast as you can while maintaining the finish required to make the cutter last longer. You may have to slow down the spindle rpm and lower the feed slightly to stop the tooling overheating.

Hi Shannon, We are using the Belin Diamond tipped end mill. I've slowed the rpm's and feed rate down and increased the amount of passes. It cuts it very nicely, but the glass in the material is very abrasive, so the bits don't last that long. At least the customer is paying for it :-) Thank you for the advice.
