I have an old anilam linear scale and would like to be able to use it with the cnc brain. does anyone know what type of voltage it takes? and do they work with it?
Also would like to use a sony dro scales for same. does anyone have any wiring information for them?
Thanks. Bob

The majority of linear scales use 5v TTL interface, line driver etc.
Apart from being linear, they work exactly the same way as a rotary quadrature encoder.
There are some Heidenhain scales that have a sinusoidal 11ua outputs for example that you have to watch for.
Sony may be the same type.

Most Anilam scales are +5 volts TTL square wave output with A channel, B channel and Reference channel.

Don't know if it will work with cnc brain.
