I am trying to barfeed on a hardinge superslant 3 axis with the 6t control. When I reach the m21 command with one axis in use the control locks up at m21 and the collet does not open. If I sync both turrets, regardless of which turret I use, the m21 opens the collet and then locks up. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Winton,
Are you doing this in Single Block Mode?
If so, the control will alarm out when in single block and M21 is executed.
Just run your unproven program at 10% override to check your moves.
Also Make sure that the spindle has come to a complete stop before you try your M21.
Try:
M05
G4U1.0 (make longer if needed)
M21
If this is not your probelm, there is a parameter that needs to be set in the control to allow you to open the collet while in MEM.
Call Hardinge, They have some of the best FREE phone support. And don't sound like a novice or ask about costs. When you get an answer on the Troubleshooting service line just say: "Hello, my name is Winton from XYZ Machine in Anytown, USA and I am having trouble with my Hardinge Super Slant." Etc, Etc.

To use M21 both turrets must be "ON" OR M21 WILL NOT WORK AND M21 ONLY WORK'S ON TURRET #1.. here is A program USING A FINGER BAR PULLER
G0Z-.5 MOVE PULLER TO BAR END
X0. MOVE PULLER TO GRAB BAR
M21 OPEN COLLECT
Z1.0 PULL BAR 1" OUT
M22 CLOSE COLLECT
X2.0 CLEAR BAR
