I haven't been in the CNC business so I'm out of the loop as interior design is my trade. How has business been for companies a.k.a the small machine shop over the years in the UK (US and other regions)

A very very distant friend of a friend's business aparrently collapsed with a conclusion that customers were outsourcing to China etc for those dead cheap rates. From what I hear there was about £1m worth of equipment.

I've been thinking of making my own little venture into the business with a second hand - but smart CNC. Expanding with global domination in mind seems a fantasy ( i guess we all think "what if"), so looking to make bespoke furniture etc.

Open forum, so please do discuss whats on your mind on the subject or my question. I just thought it would be nice to have a thread of this nature - see whats getting people talking.

Manufacturing has taken a hit all over the world due to overseas China. If you have a nitch and you can market it well I suggest giving it a shot.
