I have a 3d stl model I need to cut using only the 4th axis tool
paths. Due to its size I cannot use 3 axis roughing. I can create a
4th Axis Parallel Finishing toolpath but I can't set the Roughing. How
do I do that. Have 24" dia part need a .5" stepdown .2 stepover on the
rough and a .02 step over on the finish.
All the docs mention 4th Axis Parallel Roughing, but I don't see how
to make it work.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 3d stl model and I want to cut it with the help of 4th axis but in mastercam there is no option for 4th axis roughing and in finish cut there is no option to change the angle of the cut.

Hi Donny,

If it were Madcam I could help you out next week....I think. Wait that almost sounds like Popeye's sidekick Wimpy! "If you will give me a hamburger today I will gladly pay you next Tuesday".....or something like that!

How complicated a part is it?

Mike
