Where'd everybody go?? Been quiet.......

Any new installations lately??

Ive been working on mine a little each day.
Getting a little frustrated ,but not at Camsoft
just frustrated it isnt ready to work yet.

Wondering if I am ever going to get it done.

Now that I have all the electronics ready
(actually wiring up the enclosure now)

Next is ballscrews and pulleys ,more $$$$

About the enclosure ,I am putting everything all in one..
the computer ,servo amps, power supply, and the VFD

Wondering if anybody thinks this is going to have any problems? Most likely just going to have to wait and see...

I know I will probably have to install some line reacotrs on the VFD , maybe even the servo outputs ??

To make it all fit I had to cobble up my own custom computer chassis , a full size P4 atx ,13X14 inches ,hard drive and power supply all inside it. But it isnt totally enclosed.

One problem i have is using ICM 1900's , I am looking into
getting some 2900's.

This is all going into a 30X36X8 enclosure.

I hope to post some pics of progress.

.

Its a good idea to set up a good common ground strip, and run as many of the supply commons and shields to this strip.

I am sorry Galil went away from ribbon cable headers and went to that darn 100 pin connector, it means you virtually have to buy their cable and termination modules, rather than sourcing elswhere or making your own, which you could do with earlier generation cards.

Incidentally I have the information for converting ICM-2900 to -OPTO version if anybody wants I can email it or post it here, I assume it would be the same for ICM-1900?
It is just a couple of IC's and a couple of SIP resistor strips.
