Is it possible to project art to a contorted surface made in the bob cad software or imported? Or is bobart only capable of using the flat stock size feature and primitive boss extrusion? I want to project art into a countered groove.

Also when embossing art is it possible to pull up some of the features of your art to emphasize them?

I am looking at V21 and 22 demo and have downloaded user guides.

Thank You

Hi Will,
V23 does this. "Emboss from surface" will create an emboss from the surface of your cad model.

The normal image emboss works with global settings on the image, but you have options in this area. You could "vectorize" the image, which will make 2d geometry out of the image that you can edit, manipulate and do further bobart operations with....Or you could edit the bitmap itself. Tricks like applying some blur to only certain area's and leave some alone. ( the blur would emosss more smoothly than the sharper portion) But generally you cant pick out "just that little piece" in an image emboss and say "make that part a little higher". The vectorizing though would give you geometry to manipulate before you start the emboss operation.

That’s Beautiful! That is exactly what I’m looking for. In my speculation V22 is the oldest you can do emboss from surface or something similar. Can anyone confirm this?

V22 does this, yes.

I dont believe that BobArt XPro (V21) does this, though I may be wrong.

BobCAD V21 will not emboss a surface.
