when i pick left side to climb mill and i pick a wire frame geometry , one segment x positive and one sgment thats on x minus . the x+ toolpath is on the inside like i want but the x- geomtry the toolpath is on the outside of the geometry. (no good). do i have to edit the toolpath for each side of the x.
why cant i just pick geometry anywhere and machine it all on the correct side. ( tool path on the inside).
thanks, chuck
also i forgot to ask. my geometry resembles a horse shoe made up of a straight line, an 1/2 arc, another 1/2 arc and a straight line exit.
how do i join all 4 entities so bobcad will machine one constant path instead of rapiding up at the end of each entity and going back to the start point.

The way you're picking geometry is the problem.

First go to Other>Contour and shift select your geometry chain. If the whole chain doesn't select, stop and fix the problem. Usually a gap, untrimmed entity or double entity.

This will give you an arrow which indicate the cutter direction. If it's wrong, go to Utilities > Reverse Contour. (don't ask why it's not in the same dialogue box as Contour).

Then you can select the contour as your profile geometry.

You can shift select your chain without using contour, but it's difficult to tell which direction it's going.

If the above doesn't work, post your file. It's probably a geometry problem.

Good luck,
