Can the credit be applied to an upgrade from express to advantage?? I'd do that in a minute.

Well, I don't know if the entry form suits my foreign location, or whether I can afford to make use of the offer. But I did enter as best I could.

And to those who have been here for a while and wonder why I even bother to enter: pick a guess... silence is not praise....

One thing is for sure: the act of offering this to a community of mostly amateurs is a gesture that is very welcome, and CNCzone must be proud to be chosen for this offer.

Yeah - I found even with the discount it can still be to expensive for a lot fo people who would really love to take advantage of the special. I was hoping I could, but it is still way to expensive for me.

It doesn't hurt to inquire, guys. Part of shopping is getting used to what the goods cost. :D

Heck, when I went shopping for a used Haas, I wanted to spend only $25K, but ended up spending $42K when it was done. After examining and comparing with what else was out there, I don't feel like I got gyped. And I probably wouldn't have taken this step in my business if it wasn't for the incredible difference that OneCNC has made in my access to more challenging work, at competitive prices because it doesn't take very long to get some excellent code out of it.

I might not buy such software to only produce a part or two, but once you have it, and a good machine, some real possiblities open up. :)

I want to make many parts - but no matter what I do, I would not have the money for the software. Wife would kill me. Our budget is limited - wish the software could be more afordable as after readin all the positive things on this message board like your post here, it made me really want it.

I still have a lot to learn about machining, but would love to have some nice software to help.

My sympathies with you, Studysession. Got any bad, expensive habits? ;) :D

But, I'd suggest to make a budget that saves for it....it'll then happen eventually. :)

What level software did you believe you needed to get started? What do you have for a machine?

I currently have a 3axis CNC mill. I want something that I can take any DXF file or drawing I make from any program and have something that can export the cutting paths I need to use with Mach2 - I want it to also to take account of the size of cutting tool I am using.

I also have a lathe that I want to CNC next year. Would want to use it for that too.

And yes I do have very expensive habbits - Please do not laugh, but I am trying to break the world speed record with an RC car. I have many sponsors but somethings I have to buy somethings myself and it gets costly. A lot fo parts I can not buy but have to make myself. That is what I have the machining stuff for. I want to make after market hop-ups for RC cars when this is all said and done.

More info on my cars if you are interested: http://studysession.com

Thanks!

This may bring the thread out of focus, but anyway my suggestion is:

Make available a version that has all the features, but can only be used to make X projects within a timespan of Y days. It would not be possible for a company to use this version to make a living, but it would provide a large number of "amateur users" that someday may convert into professionals and buy the full version or create a pressure on employers. Does this make openings for non-fair use? Maybe, but if most of it is plugged, it could be compensated by the number of users "coming from below". And if this possibility does not include official support (a significant cost), the cost of doing this would be low.

I don't see why not, give them a call and see.

All you have to do is shoot them an email asking about the prices with the $500 discount. They got back to me pretty quickly. Unfortunately still out of my range. I have liked what I"ve seen people saying, and the screen shots I"ve seen. Maybe one day.....

DAB Design....well I figure if they can post a discount...they can sure post their prices....know what I mean?

Yeah, I can agree with you there, I find it frustrating when prices aren't listed on a companys website. But sometimes they don't always have a set price. They'll often lower their price if you get them on the phone and show some reluctant interest.

I was expecting an email from OneCNC UK today but nothing arrived. I was also wanting information on pricing, alongside the offer - I was also interested to know whether they offered educational discounts for school use.

We've broken up for the Christmas hols now so I'll have to wait three weeks for the answer.

The software looks fantastic but it kinda looks expensive too. I'm almost afraid to ask honestly

Acad2005 cost me like 3600.00 which I can justify.

Its really nice for them to pick us for the rebate though, you don't see that often.
