We have a 1985 Millport that is going to need another set of spindle bearings soon. We use the machine almost daily and would like to do this work in-house so we have use of the machine more quickly. The last time we did this we got yelled at by some expert at SKF because we did not send the spindle to them. My question is about the ABEC-7 bearing markings. It is my understanding that the high point on the inner race is supposed to be 180 degrees from the high point of the spindle. What about the high point on the outer race? Also, can we support the spindle between centers and check for the high point with a dial indicator or is it trickier than that?
