Hey there, can anyone help me out. I'm just learning this CAD stuff.
Is it possible to combine DXF files with A9CAD?
I can drag a DXF into the A9CAD window with a DXF already open. However the new image cannot be exploded. This creates problems for my CAM program (ACEconverter).
Am I doing something wrong or is just because it's the demo version?
Any idears appreciated.

Have you tried copying and pasting?

Yeah, when I do that I get the same result. The copied image shoes up but I can't explode it. So it remains a single entity and I can't edit individual lines.
Just doesn't make any sense to me. Perhaps I have a setting or parameter set incorrectly. Any idea what it could be?
Thanks

What if you open one .dxf, select all and copy, then close it, open the other, and paste? Same thing? I don't have A9CAD installed here, so can't check.

change the file type to .dxf in the bottom box when you are opening a file

I didn't have any problem combining 2 dxf files with A9CAD.
I dragged both from my desktop into A9CAD, scaled them to size, then did a "Save As..." to save them both as a single dxf file, is that what your trying?

Wow, that seemed to work for some reason. I can now explode the new dxf image.
Thanks for you help guys!
