I have problem with my mv40.

I swithed on machine and started to move all axis ready to ref machine.

When moving the Z axis down about 3" I encountered an air supply failiure. The machine stopped dead and alarm code '004- Overtravel LS on' appeared. This is strange as I am way past the limit switches.

I must stress that I cannot use the emergency release button on the side of the control as I cannot power up the machine to jog using handwheel. The reset button on control will not clear alarm either.

Any thoughts anyone??

Interesting problem, one of your switches could be obstructed by debri.

you need to hold the reset and the emergency release at the same time , if you dont have a third arm have someone assist you by jogging the axis as you continue to hold the buttons in .

What year is your MV40?

If it has Absolute encoders, you might just have a battery problem. If so, YOU WILL NEED A QUALIFIED MORI TECH TO RESET THE TOOL CHANGE POSITION AND THE SOFTWARE LIMITS.

Do not attempt to do this yourself.

I had the same problem with LS on MV-40 machine. After LS alarm I cant start axis drives for moving back in normal position.
I solved this problem with "emergency release" button (leftside of operator panel).
1. Turn of control with Power Off button
2. Press and hold button "emergency release"
3. Turn on control (hold em release button)
4. when the drives of axis will start, move machine in the safe position with handwheel....
