Hi all, I have a KIA VA-50. It's pretty old, and one of the poximity switches on the y axis limit switches went. We were able to order the part, but when I went to replace it, the wire color coding is different. The original has white, red and black wires, and the new switch has blue, black and brown. I can get some idea of what the wires on the machine are by how they are wired, but The new switch has no indication of what is what.

Help!

Was this issued by the OEM as a direct replacement? As Proximities can come in NPN or PNP (sink or source).
If this is a direct replacement then in the absence of any other instructions, it would most likely be safe to assume that the original was Red+v, Black -v and White load or output.
The most common colours now are Brown +v, Blue-v and Black, output.
You should be able to confirm the original colour identity be how it is wired into the machine.
What is the make of the replacement?
Al.

Hi Chappyd, we did replace switch like this before, here is how we connect it.
RED become Brown (+24V)
White become Black (to I/O Board)
Black become Blue (Com wire)
