Hi,

I'm looking to build the A model machine to get me started in CNC work.
When it comes to materials i.e. MDF the cost is not an issue however, when looking around and the parts I need to purchase e.g. motors etc they seem to be quite expensive.

Can anyone recommend ny reasonably priced places to purchase from... please bare in mind I am in the UK.

Cheers,

Martin

hi mate. i'm in the uk too. check out motioncontrolproducts.co.uk maybe .com. they are reasonably cheap and do some 1.8NM motors for about £21 each which i will be purchasing. Also think about using EN24 bright bar for the linear guides instead of precision ground bar. its accurate and hard, and its so much cheaper than ground bar. the bar i got is within 1thou of size along a 3 meter length. that cost about £12.50 for a 3 meter length instead of about £2 for 100mm of ground bar. for oilite bearings check out bearingboys.co.uk, they are pretty good and cheap.
