Hitachi_man 05-31-2005, 11:35 AM What manuals are you looking for? I'll see if I have them.
kmuller 12-06-2005, 01:45 PM HG 400III with Seicos 10M control. Tool mag is out 5 pots. How can I reset?
Hitachi_man 12-12-2005, 08:56 AM That machine should have the Micon 16 front end, to reset the tool pot you need to go into the system table and do it there. Press F1 > F4 and that will take you into the AB-Phase table. Change your pot numbers there and reboot the machine. That should take care of it.

CDang 06-01-2006, 07:38 AM Good morning Josh/Hitachi Man,
I have a vm50 with Seikos Alpha10M Control (equiped with dual pallet changer). I'm missing a Programing Manual and Instruction Manual for Optional Functions. Machine seems to be running okay except for swapping pallet. I keep having these alarms when commanding M60.
[2AC7] Transfer Ready Indication Incomplete
[2AD1] Pallet Position Pin in Abnormal
I'm not sure if we had the pallet changer hooked up right because the "APC Ready" Push Button/Light never came on during the whole time and I don't know how to "Origin APC". There's a green LED flashing all the time in APC controller box (bellow/behind the pallet changer).
We're able to MDI the APC door open, Unclamp table (which raised the table up) but unable to dock the table to its place.
I'd like to buy above mentioned Manuals (either printed copies or PDF files) from you and need your help walking us thru solving this problem. I'll have my friend Shane (he helps setting up the machine) give you a call today. We are in Oregon.
Thank you :)
Chi Dang
MIDDEN300 06-20-2006, 01:46 PM hi hitachi man
we have a vs50 aprox built 2003 the tool changer keeps alarming out
when you have tools in it with no tools in it it works fine do you think
that is somthing you could find solution for if we called you.
thanks

Hitachi_man 06-20-2006, 06:51 PM What alarms are you getting? Probably something that can be fixed very easily. That tool magazine, carrier fingers, and twin arm are pretty basic in both design and in/out signals. Alot of what I see happen is either the tool page or the a/b phase is out of sync. But if you can tell me what alarms you have I will have a better idea of what needs to be done.
Hwangbogeun 06-21-2006, 01:08 AM Dear sir
My machine(Hitachi seiki MG630-V) has micon8 & fanuc6mb system(built in 1982).
I pushed emergence button during ATC working.
After that time I can not do anything because of Z interlock.
How can I release the Z interlock.
If you have micon8 operating manual , Can I get 1 copy?
Thank you

dertsap 12-12-2006, 12:26 AM we have an hs630 , the tool arm doen't seem to grip the tools with much stength ,there is no visible wear but when the arm comes around the tool is flopping around ,i beleave the springs in the arm are worn and the book shows nothing for adjusting ,
some of the guys claim they are cleaning the oil around the sensors and it works better ,is this possible (sensors)? the door is pretty smashed so coolant and chips do get into the magazine side
i haven t had a chance to look into it further ,but we have had it throw some tools ,
it is set for heavy tools
we have a new arm coming but i was wondering if something is being over looked
thanks

tobyaxis 12-12-2006, 01:03 AM It may not be the Collant or Oil on the Sencors, but a combination of Chips, Wear, and Coolant buildup around the Gripping Finger. Don't forget that most older machines have an Origin in which they have to be loaded (Dimple OUT). If some inexperienced person Loaded it wrong once it posses a problem of throughing tools in the Future. I see a lot of machine abuse around here because people cut corners rushing to get the setup done. Or they simple were not taught correctly. Check for Damage and or Chip Buildup around the Gripping Finger of the Tool Arm. You may be very suprised at what you find.
BTW: Check the Spring Load Tention by Prying a Tool Holder out Carefully. If it comes out too easy, you know the drill buddy. Replacement which can be a real PITA on older machines. The new ones just break off, LOL
Cheers

don t need to
watching the tool change is enough for me , plus i don't have to pry a tool out ,i just yank it out
there is no more than typical wear on a machine that age ,
the springs are probably cooked

Most likely dude. Did you get a chance to look at the Keys on the spindle for damage? Their function isn't driving but Orientation is Vital on some of the machines for G76 Fine Boring with a Q Shift.
I would have to say it is the spring too.

CNCKPM 03-09-2007, 06:35 AM Hello Hitachi Man,
My company currently employs a HS630 Horizontal Machining Cell, for which we have no user manual (an external repair company took it with them after a job!).
I have been asked to look into the operating pressures of our machines and review these to see if we are over-pressurising unnecessarily.
I would therefore be most grateful if you could provide me with any information that you deem to be relevant.
Kind Regards,
(CNC KPM)
klysons 03-09-2007, 08:52 AM hes not answering in here, not returning email and his phone has been disconnected. I am thinking he is stuck in a lathe somewhere.........

columbusmachine 07-24-2007, 10:47 AM I am trying to locate "Josh" AKA Hitachi_man from this Nov 2004 post.... or anyone else with equivalent experience that may be able to provide phone support specifically for a Hitachi Seiki MN 500, Horizontal Machining Center "Minimatic" with Fanuc 6M control.

If your Hitachi-Seiki was made in Huntsville, AL you won't be able to go to these guys. Ellison is part of Mori Seiki...who bought the Japanese portion of Hitachi-Seiki. Mori couldn't get the US Hitachi-Seiki line and therfore they won't support your machine if it was made in the US. If your serial number on your machine has letters at the end, it was made in the US and not in Japan.
We ended up paying for 1/2 a service call. When the tech got here and saw the serial number with letters at the end (HT23J7909HL), he called his super at Mori and was told he could not support our machine. We still had to pay for his travel time to get here and back. He tried a few steps to get it fixed but they didn't work.
They guys at State Machine faxed me a procedure and I had it fixed in a matter of minutes. We are still having State Machine come out and do an alignment and reset the Q-setter. This machine hasn't been re-aligned in years. I know it is out because the drills don't drill on-center anymore, I have to offset the X-Axis up about 0.040" in the tool offset page.
gm3211 09-20-2007, 07:09 PM Thanks for the information! Your services will come in handy to many customers who have these machines and need service!

jbird68 02-04-2008, 07:42 AM Also try www.cybercnc.com the story I got from a guy is that the owner of this company put up his house and much more as collateral to purchase all of the Hitachi-Sieki USA equipment. He bought up everything in the US. They might have manuals you are looking for also.
flexibil 02-07-2008, 07:18 AM Hi,
Search on google for some second hand dealers of machines that have a machine like yours. Ask them if they have the manuals and what will be the cost to get them. I solved my problem once like that.
Regards,
Nick
