Hi everyone i'm new to this cnc hobby. I have a machine i converted. The machine is only a x2 mini mill (Seig) I got it up and running but still need to hook up the homing switches. I am running Bobcad V22 and mach3 demo for now ( spent lots $$$$ on the convertion) Here's my question, is there and kind of video tutorials out there regarding the info needed to set up mach3 in order to cut a a part. I guess what i mean is i kind know the drawing side of it (Bobcad) saving to get the gcode and open gcode in mach3 but what do i need to do before i would cut the part. I hope this all makes scents. well you basicly need to set the offset of the part, or more precisly were in regard to the home position of the machine the zero position of your part is situated, and set your tool offset in regard to there lenght and diameter to let the controller know where the tip of your tool is in regard to the zero of your part, the rest the controller will do by it self the job of moving your tool in accordance to the gcode you have programmed,

what alot of people do is set there part offset with tool number 1 wich if you then tell the machine to go to x0 y0 z0 with tool 1 the tip of tool one should sit on top in the corner of the part you have selected as your zero part as long as you have set the z0 on top of the part and not slightly inside the part

i dont know if this is what your were looking for but thats what i understood if you need more detailed info on how to do all this let me know ill go more in depth as to how to do all of those operation

I can't of know what your talking about. I am the kind of guy like most i'm sure that learns better, faster if i can see this being set up. When i get my home switches set up i'll let you know i'm ready to start. Where abouts in Canada are you Please say just down the road HA HA :). I will PM you when i ready to go if thats ok with you.
