So, it turns out that I'm interested in getting a laser cutter. I've got a few specs, and I was looking for machine ideas.

- 24x12 bed size minimum (maybe allowed to run open for extra long material)
- 1/2" acrylic single-pass cut
- true vector capability
- enclosed design (for indoor use, to-outdoor ductwork is fine)
- rotary capability (not so important)
- nozzle blower (makes parts so much cleaner)
- honeycomb/vacuum
- Z axis positioning of table
- .. and maybe a few different focal lengths/spot sizes (do some fine stencil cutting sometime)

I have some time on a Universal laser. I was pretty happy with it, but the prospect of spending $10K+ for what by many accounts is a small laser isn't too appealing... so machines I should be looking it? I figure I'd need 50/60W minimum to get through 1/2" acrylic, if not more.

I'm in MA, so whatever I got would have to be US legal (whatever that entails)
