Rick Kight 11-23-2008, 09:19 AM advt001 Have not replaced due to failures but they have to come out on a spindle rebuild which we have done numerous times over the years. You need to make a tool to keep the draw bar from turning when you unscrew the big nut / ring on top of the assembly. The tool is nothing more than a big screwdriver like tool , the top of the draw bar is slotted. the big retaining nut / ring has a couple of set screws that you need to lossen before it will come off. Be sure to measure from the top of the draw bar (slotted part) to the top of the retainer as this diminsion needs to be re established when you put things back together. The air cylinder that opens the draw bar works off of the top of the nut / retainer, that is the reason for getting the measurement. We lube the spring washers with a dry film lube when we ressemble. That is about it. Good Luck Rick advt001 11-23-2008, 06:49 PM Thank you, Rick |
