 This is not a big problem, but I would like to know the correct step's & where to make them stick or be my new default background color, in Modeling & Sketcher. Every time I open a session of NX5, my background color revert's to the light blue. I prefer black. I know I can go to Preferences/Visualization/ & the Visualizatoin Preferences dialog box appear's & edit background & change it to the color I want. But if I close out NX5 & start a new file it revert's back to the hard to see blue background. I know it's a setting somewhere , but I can;t find it . Very Annoying. Thank's for any help in advance. I use a seedpart. Along with black background i have my layer categories, object preferences etc defined in it. I added a new button and pointed (thru marco)it to this file. so every time i hit create a new part it creates a copy of my seedpart.

Although i would be more than interested to know if any other way to do it.

You can also set up a Visualization Template that you can drag and drop onto your current part file and set the background colors as well as other visualization settings.
Check the help docs on Create visualization settings template.

You can change in the customerdefaults:
gateway>visualization>background (tab)

I have the default graduated blu background for shaded view and a black background fore the wireframe view. I really like, especially with the radial popup up & down for switching between views.

As 850T3 explained, you can change this, and just about any other default from customer defaults. You can get to this from File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults. You are better off changing here then using a seed file. Customer defaults can be exported out of one version then imported into the next. Although you can use a NX5 seed file in NX6, you will not get the template changes from the newer version. The Customer Defaults can be set from company standard to a goup level, or at a user level.
