I was wanting to get the groups thought on a product that is in development. It is a T-slot extrusion that is compatible with the 80/20 1515 only the material is ridgid PVC. (same stuff as window frames).
Obviously it can't do all that aluminumextrusion can do, however I believe it has it's place in the market. The PVC allows for a considerable cost advantage (about 1/2) and can preform in corrosive environments that may be hazardous to aluminum. It has been proven useful for light duty framing and guarding, fixtures and jigs.
We have made a sample run and will post some pictures if you all are interested or have some application ideas.
