I need help please!!!
I have Bridgeport VMC460/12 running Fanuc OMate M (please dont ask if it is an a, b, or c model as i have no idea and dont know really where to look to find out) The problem is when i connect to PC i can send file to PC from the CNC but cannot then send the same file back. I have had an electronics friend of mine to have a look, he checked the cableing and he said that was fine. Then he put a RS232 checker box on the CNC end of the cable and that lit up like a christmas tree proving the data was being passed throught the cable.
Finally he went into the 'hexadecimal' data and found out that the control needs end of line data as 'LF CR' (line feed carriage return) but the PC is sending it out as CR LF ( or vice versa).
Can someone shed some light?
Cheers

There should be settings in the software you're using to add/remove/modify CR/LF's.

What are you using?

Does the control end indicate an error of any kind? or does it just wait there in the recieve mode? Here is a previous link http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4399 on the Zone that covers some of the points of comunicating with the Fanus0 mate.
