I'd like to go CNC via Hoss's design, but that means getting the ball screws cut & machined by a machine shop. I don't have the means or skill to do it.

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for cutting one into 3 sections, then turning and threading one end of each?

I'm still waiting to hear from the shop that we use at work, but I'd like to know what I'm getting into.

Thanks!

You can contact this shop (mailto:hoss@hossmachine.info), they have done them for $20 per screw plus S&H.

LOL. Is it the same quote for International customers?

But seriously Hoss, if ever I need a set of ballscrews machined, would you be able to source, cut, machine and thread them and send them over my way?

If you do, I will call on you in the near future for a quote. Thanks.

Thanks! As soon as I figure out lengths (and the slight mods to your design), I'll email you about it.

Sure thing, the only difference would be shipping costs.
