I have a Rong Fu RF-45 square column mill. I am looking at doing production work in aluminum and various plastics. My question is this mill capable of producing parts consistently and with precision?

I am assuming you are talking about a stock RF-45 and its not a cnc conversion.

If you install DRO'S on all axis it should be fine as long as you dont exceed depth of cut limits etc...

My RF-45 will not be CNC, I have added a 3 Axis DRO and I plan to add a tach soon. I changed the motor over and I am using a DC motor controller. I plan on adding a "One shot lube system", a power drawbar and X-axis power feed. The only other items I might due is fill the column and base with epoxy (supposed to eliminate vibrations) and add ballscrews. The ballscrews would be later on and maybe not until I CNC the machine. I just wasn't sure if this machine was capable of handling 40 hours a week of machining for the next year or two without wearing out.

If you get a Auto Lube Pump with a built in timer it will automatically oil your machine.

The oil pump time is adjustable, wire it to turn on with your mill.

The RF-45 should last a very long time

I'll post a couple of pics this week when I get a free moment.
