I bought a Taig X2 a couple years back with the intention of adding a 4 axis CNC system - X, Y, Z and a rotary table. My plan is to make stuff for my RC planes. Specifically landing gear and wheels. Plus I need another hobby...
Well I never really got around to it but I need to get this going. I am at step 0. well maybe 1 because I have the mill and rotary table... I would like to retain a manual capability as well. I need advice on which "mod kit" is best for this machine. Lead screws? Z axis? Also need advice on software. I've looked at a few sites hobbycnc, kdn, littlemachineshop, stirlingsteel etc etc. I've read so much that I'm getting confused. :withstupi
I will probably be using solidworks for the parts design. Is Mach 3 a good controller software? Point me to some sites and or threads and I'll pore thru them. Give me your opinions and things to look out for. Help me obiwancnczone....
