ABC123 10-18-2004, 09:27 AM Does anyone have the format for a DSTV file (please!)?
Know it's one type of standard file but I'm after a definition/the exact fields.
Thank you.

fpmalard 04-24-2007, 02:25 PM Hello,
Does anyone know where can I find the DSTV file format specification?
I'm planning to read some files that come out from XSteel (.NC1 file extension) and understand what each field inside this file represents.
Regards,
Fernando.

marspd 01-29-2008, 12:44 PM Hi there
Has anyone found a copy of the DSTV specification in English yet? I'd love a copy if someone can send it to me. If the German one is still available I would appreciate that as I can get it translated if necessary.
Thanks for any help.
Regards
Paul

StudentND 08-18-2008, 03:14 PM Do I have to enter the data in metric even though I am in the USA? I guess my real questions is, do machines used in America have metric or english input files?
Thank You
Mrsonso 08-18-2008, 04:10 PM DSTV is a german standard. All of Europe is in the metric system. I'm not an expert on all CNC machine but if I had to guess I say that any CNC machine that uses DSTV or reads DSTV files directly would have to be metric. I know that most of the mahines I have in our shop convert the DSTV file to be read in the specific machine code.
StudentND 08-19-2008, 10:48 AM Thank you for your input. I don't know if this is possible, but is there any way you could send me a drawing and the corresponding DSTV file. The part I am having trouble with is the different axis, and where they start and end. I have been having a heck of a time finding examples. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Zaita 05-28-2009, 03:56 PM Hey guys,
I am available for hire as a consultant on developing and reading in DSTV files. I am the developer of MultiDrillFX http://www.multidrillfx.com/features.html
If you wanna get ahold of me for a chat etc, email me @ scott.mdfx@zaita.com
There's a software calle softburn that will read plates from a dwg or dxf and produce a DSTV NC1 file, its from a company called soft steel.
