We have a Mori Seiki SL-25B/1000 lathe with a Fanuc MF-T6 controller. Every so often there is an error, actually two at the same time, 401-x axis vrdy off and 414-x axis detect ERR. The darn thing may run for 2-3 hours then boom the errors. They have always happened while it is machining. Thought maybe someone may have had this problem also. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

check the door safety lock...
Darn, I did not even think of that. Sounds like it could be that though. I will have to clean the thing and check it out to see if it happens again. Thanks
I HIGHLY doubt you'd get a 414 alarm from a door switch.
Check diagnostics 200 and 204. Make a note of the bits that are on (1). Also, check the LED display on the X axis servo.
DGN 200
Bit 6 = Low voltage
Bit 5 = Overcurrent
Bit 4 = High Current
Bit 3 = Over Voltage
Bit 2 = Discharge Alarm
Bit 1 = Disconnection Alarm
Bit 0 = Overflow Alarm
DGN 204
Bit 6 = A/D Converter abnormal
Bit 5 Magnetic Contactor faulty
Are these alpha drives? If so, you'll probably need to send the drive out for repair. If they're not alpha drives, you might have a transistor module going bad. Transistor mods are a pain to check, but will cost a lot less to repair.
Other things to check....
X-Axis brake not releasing fully. It's basically an electro magnetic release. If the coil's going bad, it'll stop functioning when it gets really hot.
Check that all of the cooling fans in the electrical cabinet are working. If they're not, you could try running with the EC door open with a fan blowing inside. I don't recommend doing this for long periods of time. Oil, grease, and coolant aren't good for electronic components.
