Has anyone yet hooked up some step motors to one of those X-Y Vises? I think it'd be just the ticket for repeated parts that require drilled patterns.

But, air would great for clamping. I can't find an example of air powered linear motion. cnczoner 09-27-2008, 09:15 PM Instead of this, why not get a table from a a small mill (from LMS etc) and add steppers to that. You can also get stepper mounts etc already made to fit. Or at that point, why not convert a cheap X1 mill to 2-axis or 3-axis CNC? |
