Ken_Shea 10-13-2004, 03:33 PM Mine had the head secured via a steel brace that bolted to the underside of the spindle and then bolted to the bed using the t-slots. You might call Haas and ask the for recommendations. Rekd 10-13-2004, 04:09 PM Ken, those red braces generally come with the machines. (At least the do with HAAS.) Words of advice: Secure the head. Clean the machine. Don't let the movers drag it down the dirt road with come-alongs Don't let the movers take it off the machine without the proper equipment: if it drops, it's toast. Wrap the monitor in bubble wrap or some other heavily padded material. Wrap the monitor pendant to the machine so it can't swing around in transit. If you store programs in the machine, back them up. Also back up the parameter list. Don't machine any parts while in transit. Potholes WILL cause gouges! ;) scottsss 10-14-2004, 12:24 AM If you can, their are tilt sensors you see used on crates. Works off of coloring the paper blue if the machine is tilted. Put one of those some place and take a picture. Also photograph that machine as the condition they receive it in. I got in to a fight with the riggers and the people we bought a machine from since the heads were not secured and had moved around and cracked a stop. Problem was with out pictures it boiled down to he said she said. Also anything that does not need to be on the machie and might fall out such as touls etc pack in a seperate box. If your worried it will be lost put it on the table with packing tape if their is room or on top of the machine. mvaughn 10-22-2004, 12:34 PM This is probably the most obvious suggestion: Get insurance on it. |
