Hi,

I need help on getting what I am looking for.

I am looking for a motor to attach a (small pulley system, that has a saw blade attached to it)

This will go on to my CNC lathe where it will be running Horizontal on the Z axis.

I need your professional opinion on what motor I need to be able to run on a duty cycle, I am cutting only wood baseball bats, so it needs enough torque/HP to cut through the wood. The RPM should be at least 3,000 .

Almost any motor would do this. At what voltage do you want to run it? How large a saw blade?

Whatever motor you use, will need an arbor to hold the blade. Have you considered using an actual power saw?

There are many surplus dealers who have cheap motors of all types. Here is one:

Hand power saws typically use Universal motors, these offer compact size, high rpm and high torque.
If you can find the smallest dia blade you can get away with, you could investigate using a router, this will certainly give you the high rpm you need for wood, and will be compact.
Obviously a router will be limited by the blade size, also make sure the blade is rated for high rpm, and your surface SF/Minute proportionally lower on smaller dia .
3000rpm does not seem like much for wood, especially if small dia blade.
DC motors are limited to around 3000 and 2 pole induction to 3400 rpm.

The Voltage can either be 220V or 120V. The blade will have to be 8inch or smaller, I will have it set up with a pulley system to the motor when I find the correct one.

How about an angle grinder? It has that nice large tapped handle hole for mounting and some, like Makita, have easy to clamp round bodies.

Like I say, I would seek out a Universal motor, especially for low cost at that rpm.
These are used from anything from vacuum cleaners to many AC powered hand tools.
Another advantage is you do not need anything in the way of a controller etc.

Edit: I guess I posted at the same time, the angle grinder may be a solution using a Universal motor, mine runs at 12,000rpm.
