We are thinking to buy a KOMO MACH One that comes with a Fanuc Controller.

The salesperson is proposing to buy RouterCim and AutoCad (both programs are required to run routerCim correctly.

We have been introduce to Mastercam and Solid Edge before by another manufacture of cnc... Thermwood.

What program is best or easy to work with. Maybe that will help us taking the decision on what machine to buy. Mastercam or RouterCim, someone have the experience on both and able to help me to get a final decision.

Komo bought out RouterCIM, and according to their website, it's included with all their routers. Why are they trying to sell it to you if their website says it's included. Man do I dislike machine salesman. :) If they aren't going to give you a credit if you don't want it, I'd see if it will work for you. MasterCAM Router comes in different versions, with different capabilities and different prices. It depends on the type of work you'll be doing with the machine. Are you doing casework? If so I'd also take a look at Cadcode. http://www.cadcode.com

I have used cadcode, and personally I would stay away from it unless you need to do labeling and bar coding.

Why do you say that, Paul? What version did you use? The newer version does panel optimization, nesting, as well as labeling and barcoding. I use version 4 every day doing .dxf conversion with barcoded labels and it works great. If you'r doing casework it's ideal. But it really depends on the type of work you do.

I don't use it anymore being that I changed jobs, and I don't remember with version I was using, maybe things has changed. I just didn't find it to be a great experience.

Sense you are in Canada contact In-house soultions they would beable to give more info On how we work well with the Komo. there are alot of people using it with Router now.

If you have any spacfics please feel free to ask.
Also routor plays well with KCDw.

Are you sure that CV wasn't the problem? :D That was the buggiest software I've ever seen. (First Solid Version). When I first started using CadCODE, i used to get to talk to Ned directly whenever I had a problem, and any bugs I found were promptly fixed. The problem was that not a lot of knowledgable (skilled?) people were using it at the time, so the bugs didn't turn up often. This was about 5 years ago. Not long after I had everything working good, they started getting a lot busier, and I'll agree, the support has suffered. But I haven't had a problem in about 5 years, and use it daily.

I found bugs that they didn't even know about. I have a way of finding problems. I think the biggest problem is they did the install and I was not a part of it. When it was working it did work well. It just was a BIG headache, Ned was great at getting things resolved but if he was not around than nothing got fixed.
