I'm stripping down my Taig CNC and going too re-adjust everything and fine-tune it all. Tram and lube everything...


I know many people use Mobil1 oil for there ways on not just the Taig, but other machines.

I checked in the garage, my brother has transmission oil for his old motorcycle, it says SAE75W


Any chance this might work at all or am I better off getting the Mobil1 and what grade type. I plan on going too target or walmart later.

swing by a local machine shop and see if you can buy a gallon of waylube 68 from them. Guess what waylube is for................

HAH ways :)

But anyone else have info on that Mobil one stuff :)

He gets like that sometimes when he wiggles off his chain.
He is implying that 75 weight is a little too thick.
I use 30 weight oil. I had some Mobil 1 for a while, but ran out. It was good, but I couldn't tell the difference between it and regular stuff. Now I just use straight 30 weight non detergent.

I'll pick up some Mobil 30 weight. I have been using bad lube in the first place.

I've been experimenting with a ceramic waterproof grease on my ways and screws. It doesn't drip and won't get washed off by coolant. The jury is till out on wear reduction, but I have another Taig sitting in a box, just in case.

So far, there has not been any binding that was related to lack of lube.
