It is a bit scary when you are blatting down the Motorway in the middle lane doing around 90, miles not km per hour, and somebody in a car similar to this goes past in the fast lane doing twice your speed.

My neighbor just traded his 3 yr old vette for a Z06 last night. Has all the extras, with 505 hp for 80k and a top speed of 195. I think the F1 is a tad over-priced at a million. (nuts)

Maybe 5 MPG for any of these Super Sports Cars:)

My truck gets about 12 MPG City and if lucky 22 MPG HWY

You're both wrong.

Its not the fastest production street car. It was beaten by the Koenisegggggg CCR followed bby the Veyron and then at 256mph, the SSC Aero. The SSC Aero is the fastest.

Well when your super rich a small million to impress yourself with superior engineering is a drop in the bucket.

It would be one sweet ride though.:)

Yeah, you're right. :)

Lets see... I can buy this here F1 for a million, or I can buy like 11 of these here top of the line Vettes for about the same amount. And to be honest, unless I'm a professional racer I won't ever know the difference because I could never drive either to it's potential. :rainfro:

And I wouldn't go as far as to say the engineering on the F1 was "superior". It may be "superior" to the engineering on my Alero, but it sure ain't superior to the Vette, the Viper or the Cobra, but it's agreeably better. (Or at least better funded.) :D :D

At my age It would be nice to have all those....Mmmmmmmmmm

McClaren....cant afford it!
Vette........Not a chevy fan!...but nice none the least.
Viper.........Like Dodge .....but the brakes suck! Whats Go Without Whoa? an insurance claim! ( hope the new challenger has better brakes than the viper! )

Now my kids are out of teenagerdom and I have at my disposal......

84 Trans Am......For nice weekend ride.....me & the wife...T tops out.

91 Camaro RS.....This kid does not keep tires.....you think gas is high .... he spends all his $$$$ on tires.....but i help every once in a while:)

And then my other son has a 64 Plymouth Belvedere GTX......dont get to play with that one much.

I about have my wife talked into a new car though.....I am trying to push her in the direction of a C63 AMG......then I can give the grandbabies a ride..;)

I guess it would be kinda stupid, but if you had a few million laying around, then your probably not stupid...

On the other hand what do women know about Cars?

Never been on this topic but Toby do you have any cars? Collect? Race? Show or just proud of?

I had a Model A 5 window with a 460/c6/9"ford rear... I built it from the ground up... I was 18 then... Not a good racer, about 110mph the FLAT front windsheild brokeand came in on me...

I have a 1989 Mustang GT Convertable, which at one time ran 11+/- a little... It's stock now... The sweet 16 car, had to go back stock...

I had a 65 falcon sprint that ran 8.9-9.4 with a 351 stroked to 426... Lot of fun... 60' times were slow because it was carrying the front over the beam, getting it with the back tires...

I just inhearted a 1961 Galaxie Town Sedan 390 hi-po from my Grandfather... It's mint, I'll post a few pics.. After I get some taken...

I have had a bunch of cars, mostly drag street race cars... I live about 10 miles from the Atlanta Dragway, which is in Commerce, Ga....

Well there are two reasons I don't mess around with autos anymore.

1) some one not paying attention wrecked my baby
2) johny law didn't like me very much and liked to give out golden tickets LOL

Now I see the reason why johny was hard on me and he was right for doing so.
As for another build, maybe, maybe not, but next time I hope to be living someplace else.

Oh well, life goes on, and the Need For Speed is now based on PC's using CAD/CAM. It's a lot cheaper, safer and you won't get any tickets:)

I always got my tickets in "SLOW" autos..... Never in a runner.... Last ticket get this, South Carolina, I 20 I got behind a "Camaro" Blacked out windows in the fast lane running about 75, I ran up on his ass pretty fast... Flashed my lights for him to move over... He did... As I was passing I looked over and he was putting down the sunvisors, they had Blue lights mounted in them.... BUSTED.... He clocked me as I was steaming up behind him... 85 mph and $100 on the spot... I think he pocketed the $, because I had a dmv ran for insurance, not SC ticket......

I wanta build another..ANYTHING FAST...

Speed always cost big $$$............ no matter what you have that is fast.....

You forgot the braggart driver mod. Although I guess that was implied when you started with 1987 Pontiac :P

Saturday my neighbor let me test drive his Vette. Took it on one of my favorite sportbike roads that the wife and I have been riding for decades. The total run was from Lakeside, Ca to Julian, Ca then back to Santa Isabel, Ca.

Here's the route. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Lakeside,+CA&daddr=33.048386,-116.826553+to:julian,+ca&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=11&via=1&sll=32.961434,-116.755142&sspn=0.307648,0.403061&ie=UTF8&ll=32.993115,-116.790161&spn=0.307538,0.403061&z=11)

After 20 or 25 miles of getting used to the way the Vette drives, I let it fly through some of my favorite corners between Ramona and Julian and was quite surprised to find out that the Vette went through those corners just as well as any of the bikes I've ridden through them, and I was (obviously) taking it easy with the Vette.

Great stuff. Took until late yesterday to get that stupid grin off my face.

Next will by my brother-in-law's Shelby Cobra 500. He said he'd let me drive it to compare it to the Vette. It may have stood a chance (in a straight line) against the old Vette, but I don't think it will even be a contest now.

Wonder if my boss would let me drive his Carrera... :devious:

Ok now my thirst for Performance is Devilishly Rising. There is nothing like the feeling of hundreds of ponies under the hood. Tearing up the asphalt with a new set of rubbers and exhaust fumes. Smoke bellowing out of the wheel wells cornering on dimes.

Ok enough, those thoughts are nothing but trouble as I drive by a Nova Yenko Duce for sale every day at lunch time.

Bad Thoughts.....Bad..........

.... There is nothing like the feeling of hundreds of ponies under the hood......

I have heard the claim that the number of ponies under the hood is inversely correlated to the driver's *eck** size.

I am being nasty, don't take me seriously for goodness sake.
