Does anyone know of any NC software that is suitable for controlling a CNC mill that has a serial data connection? All the ones I have looked at so far seem to be for parralell controllers only.

Check out flashcut cnc. I may be wrong there but I used to have one of their systems, a year ago and I think it was serial....it's worth a call to them. The software is pretty cheap, and will import DXF.
