I have a Haas SL-30 and can not get any of the live tooling operations to run correctly. Every time I get the 303 alarm which is "INVALID X, Z OR B IN G02 OR GO3". The only way I can by pass this line is to enter a X coordinate usually the one in the line above. In any simple live tooling operation i have to manually enter this X coordinate (some lines of code will only have "G02 R.0332" with no x coordinate). I am assuming it has something to do with my post. I am using CAMWorks to program. Can any one help me??? Some recommendations on how to change my post or if anyone has a post out there that is work correctly it would be great to get a copy. Thanks.

Why not post a snippet of the code? You know, 10 or so blocks either side of the problem area. Sounds like it might be a G17, G18, or G19 missing or incorrect.

Here are a few lines of the code:
N2585 X1.1739 C252.029
N2590 G03 C264.251 R1.1739
N2595 G01 X1.168 C270.
On line N2590 to G03 doesn't have X-coordinate but it requires one to run. Without the X-coordinate I get the error 303 which I talked about in the original post. Do you know how to change the Post in CAMWorks so it gives the X-coordinate? I could manual change it but there are about 50 of these errors. Does this sound like a post problem to you? Thanks

Hello Ross,
Does your Cam software come with a post editor? If so look for a delimiter {} around the axis of motion in your post, {X<X-COORD>} {Z<Z-COORD>}. I use FeatureCam and by removing the {} it will force the post processor to post the particular axis motion, from {X<X-COORD>} to X<X-COORD>.
I hope this helps.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but it looks like your software is giving you output in polar coordinates while your machine wants cartesian x-y coordinates. That's why you see R's and C's (R = radius in inches, C = circumference in degrees) instead of X's and Z's.
Check your CAM software to see if there's an option to give output in cartesian coordinates.
