A little background on this machine in our shop. This machine is used for our granite shop. We have one dedicated computer for the software to make the post processor file for the machine. The software is EasyCAD and EgarCAM. There is a hardware dongle for the computer.

The problem I am facing in our department is that we will have 5 or 6 guys working on the digital files and producing what we need to run the machine. We are also in the process of obtaining other equipment (different manufacturer), all with their own proprietary software. Going to be here Thursday. One computer for one machine and one for the other is not going to cut it.

My solution is to combine everything into one interface CAD/CAM solution (not EasyCAD) and post process our files to the machines as needed, which probably doesn't come as a big surprise to you.

Right now I am ready to pull the trigger on Rhino and RhinoCAM. I have evaluated them both and I'm pretty confident this will suit our needs.

I am stuck right now at the post processing part. I needed help getting over this bump in the road, so I called Bavelloni to ask them for help (fat chance) to get a post processing setup going for Rhino.

The guy told me no dice, impossible. Can't do it, have to use the specific software they provide. I have a hard time believing that to be honest. I've looked at the file it spits out and it's similar to what I've seen for G-Code type files and I'm almost certain it's possible, just at the moment I don't have the experience yet to push through this part.

I'm not looking for a free ride, I want and need to learn this myself. Just kind of looking for the answer to "can it be done"?

I could post part of the file here if it helps, not sure if it's a legal thing or not.

Sure could use a confident response.

Thank you.

Well, I sent a file to someone that knows more about the file than I do.

He told me it wasn't G-Code, so I appear screwed ATM. Anyone care to take a look and see what they think of this code and see if it can be deciphered into anything our machine can use?

This is a huge setback for me. I'm not feeling confident of gaining control of this machine. Almost seems pointless to keep it IMO.

I appreciate any and all help.
