Is there a setting that I am missing when posting my G code out of Lazy cam for kerf offset! Watched the videos but didn't see anything about settings for Kerf, also what would the Kerf size be, I am running a Hypertherm 1000 with 40 amp Fine cut Consumables ... Any help on this would be great! Thanks Dennis

Hi: Don't know about Lazy cam, but kerf size is base on an initial guess, a trial cut of (say a square), and then a correction of the guess. Once you get it (after 1 or 2 trials), it only changes in proportion to the wear of the consumeable. We routinely
achieve cut accuracies of +/- 1/16"over 8ft, using a fixed kerf size, which is more than good eneough for us. For artwork, it's an important setting especially to get the details.

Sir,
Does your CNC controller have provision for kerf comp?? Some controllers do. Generally the kerf for plasma is small compared to a 1/2" end mill, for example.

I have a hyp. 1000 I run .03 for fine cut and 60 amp. shielded.

set it to cut a line in the metal and stick a feeler gauge in the kerf to measure. I was told .06 for kerf but it did'nt work. I was out on the part.

We used to cut a small square, (having the speed, amps, height setup correctly) and measure the square size. Then you can make adjustments to correct the kerf.
