in trying to setup my hobby cnc board I have gone through stepconf.
y and z "test axis" button pulls up the test/jog control... x will not do this and responds the same with or without machine connected
where do I look for this problem?
also y will only move in one direction press left moves right press right moves right

What are you running emc on? A recent install? Any chance it's the new Hardy Heron release?
Sounds like somethings corrupt or buggy but I'm not on my cnc machine to follow along.

Have you tried using the keyboard instead of the mouse? There was some mention of a bug regarding this on the emc-user mailing list yesterday.

Could be wrong pin setup but I'm guessing. Have you had this machine running on another control at any time?

new install of new release on intel gl201 mini itx
no bug in the software just in the user I had set pin 2,and 3 both for x step
that part is fixed now if I could get them to move at speed greater than .3 inches/sec tryed all diff velocity settings and played with step time step hold to no avail but really just guessing on those two values .
latency test ended at around 6900 max so I should be able to hit max speed around 4 ips I'd be quite happy with 2 as this is a very small machine 5"*5"*4" mainly for engraving jewelry
have 60oz nema 23 running at 12v
x= 20 tpi delrin nut
y= 8 tpi thompson ball screw prebuilt slide
any help would be great!

You might post a picture of your machine it would give us a little better idea of what you're working with. Also how many microsteps are you set for?
My guess is that with a 60 oz/in stepper running unipolar at 12v, you aren't going to get a lot of speed.

hobbycnc is not much help on the timing of their board. What are you using now for step time, step hold, direction and direction hold?
You don't say what you get when you try and go faster???
12 volts is pretty low for speed on a stepper. The more voltage you have the faster you can go...
