I have a 1984 aliant knee mill that the spindle bearings are a little loose so im trying to remove the quill so I can adjust or replace without taking apart veriable speed pully and motor if at all possible. I have taken the front guide off that runs up and down the adjustable stop, and the pinion gear shaft for the quill handle. The spindle shaft is splined thru the veriable speed pully so it should slide out the bottom, right? I have the manual for this machine but it doesnt give info about spindle or quill repair. It has listing for all parts in head but I cant see anything else that maybe holding it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Tim
