Hi all,

I am currently trying to configure EMC2 for a Hobby CNC 3 Axis Pro
Kit. So, immediately I have some questions about setting up stepconf.

What are the following for the HobbyCNC driver chips? These values
are given in nanoseconds and I haven't the faintest what they mean.

Step time:
Step space:
Direction hold:
Direction space:

I can't really use my HobbyCNC board as this information is not given
in the instructions for its assembly. Any ideas?

Also, if anyone has taken this route before (EMC2 with a HobbyCNC
board) that would be willing to contemplate my novice questions I
would really appreciate it.

Toodles,
Peter

Did you get a manual with your kit? I found nothing on their web site. Sometimes the information is not clear or not listed in the same units and must be converted. Have you contacted them to request the information?

A nanosecond is a unit of time. Try googling for convert to see the conversions from different units.

There is a wiki web site that lists the timings for poplar drives but your model is not listed yet. When you find out we can add it...

Wow. It looks like we posted nearly the same thing at exactly the same time!

Nope. I beat you by a nanosecond :)

I wouldn't hesitate contacting that guy (Andy) with any further questions. He's enthusiastic and pops up on the user-mailinglists occasionally. The mailinglists are great place to get answers not provided here btw.
