I bought an un-opened(unlicensed) package of VM5 on eBay and because the seller is not in the Mecsoft database they want to charge me $300 to license this software. I am wondering if this license fee is reasonable? Since this package has not been licensed it seems like it is somewhat steep? Does anyone know what they usually charge for licensing and transfers? Thanks for any information you can offer!

If they told you $300, then it's $300. Transferring a license might be a different price. Be glad that they'll let you license it at all. Before buying any expensive software on Ebay, you should always contact the software company to find out there policies. Some software can not be transferred at all.

Thanks for the reply Gerry. Yes, I should have checked with Mecsoft before hand! I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Here is your price structure comparison if you had gone to them directly for purchase.

Hi Wes. That does seem relatively steep. Most I ever heard of was $100.00. I would try and contact the buyer and see if he could possibly refund a little back and split costs. Just a thought!
