I need to locate a source for lead weights -- i.e. someone who can mold lead strips approx. .25 x .5 x 3 in size and a quantity of around 4000 pcs. The shipping location is in Simi Valley (Southern California).

If anyone can refer me to some small foundry who can help me accomplish this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Norbert

Buy 0.25 lead sheet and find a company nearby that can cut it up for you.

Here is a large free source, all you need is a set of weight pliers and a Wal-Mart parking lot :D

That is about the size of mag wheel weights that you stick on the inside of the rim (not on the rim) , but they do have a sticky tape on the one side.

Edit: Thinking more on these it may be cost prohibitive even if they might be usable.

Thanks for the suggestion -- about the .25 sheet :)

I called and will be receiving a quote shortly. All this time I didn't even think of sheets...i was about to commit to making a mold and pouring them.

One really good place to get lead for free is from tire shops. I asked around about getting some and ended up with a 5 gallon pail full at the first shop i stopped at.
