View Full Version : FYI - Harbor Freight Discounts
_taz_ 05-09-2008, 10:34 AM Seems like people like HF. I do, don't get me wrong, I know a lot of their stuff needs tweaking or whatever to be good, but for what you pay you can usually make it work. You just have to use your own judgement if the tool will do the job you want it to do.
Anyway, don't want to open a can of worms, if you don't like HF stop reading.
I see people talking about the 15% coupon. This is an FYI there is also a HF Inside Track Members club. It only cost $10/yr to join but if you buy much it's worth it. For instance right now the geared mill 42827 is $1199 but for ITC members its $899. There are no flyers or sale notices, you just have to log in and see whats on sale. I got my 44991 for $418 out the door. If you see something you want look it up, it might be on ITC sale. Sometimes even the stuff on sale has a bigger ITC discount.
You print out the web page and take it with you, most mgrs will also let you use your coupon in conjunction with it.
Look up item 42800 online. I bought 1 tool and got my $10 back.
If you are curios and have an item in mind tell me the number I'lll look it up on ITC. I tell you if you go to HF for anything it's worth your $10
nc cooter 05-10-2008, 08:03 AM How does one join the HF Inside Track Club? I could only find the login area.
_taz_ 05-10-2008, 10:23 AM go to HarborFreight.com in the "Find Item Number" box put in 42800
then you will just add it to your cart, checkout, you will be sent a link in email to fill in the details.

rinigado 07-25-2008, 12:51 AM $418 for the mini mill (price before shipping I assume?) beats their $489 in store price, except I can special order to a nearby store w no shipping...will stores honor the ITC prices?
_taz_ 07-25-2008, 09:21 AM yes they honor ITC, you have to take a print out of the ITC pricing with you.
$418 out the door, means everything (no shipping because I ordered it at the store with the coupon and ITC discount) including taxes..
also if you see something on sale online you should print that and take it with you, just in case it's not on sale in the store
rinigado 07-25-2008, 02:52 PM wow... good deal. Back to the 15% coupon, I assume that was part of the "sign up for coupons etc." link on their webpage? how recently (and how often!) did/do they send out % off coupons like that??
dmoore.com 07-25-2008, 03:00 PM If you get on their mailing list they send out 15% off coupons from time to time, though they are limited to a single item and the last time I used one - the clerk and I got into a heated discussion about their use with an on-sale item. One part of the coupon says they can be used with sale items and another says "no additional discounts".... go figure.
Still not at good as in the past when you got a 15% off EVERYTHING on your order, sale or not. I guess the falling dollar is catching up to HF.
I will agree - some of their items are great deals (calipers, some hand tools, dust collection) and some is just junk (some vices, any electrical or screw package, tape, tires).
What someone needs to do is have a harbor freight review web site so everyone can vote on the quality of an item and list the prices they paid.
rinigado 07-25-2008, 03:11 PM single item's fine in this case...after lurking here reading posts lately, I was about to go in this weekend and plunk down the money to order the 44991 mill. Until I read this thread! Now I'm hoping to see that 15% coupon or similar in the mail!

txcowdog 07-26-2008, 12:54 AM Hey Taz,
I was just about to buy a tig welder. Would you give me a price on item #91811-8VGA? In January it was $200, last week it was $269 and now it is $289. Prices are going up like a rocket. Hopefully the Inside Track Club will get me some relief on the price.
Thanks.
bensf 07-28-2008, 12:01 AM Could someone look and see if they have any discounts on the Micro Mill? ITEM 47158-7VGA
Thanks

They price matched Tools Now Mini Mill price of $399 when I went in with an internet printout of the toolsnow page and had the Mill shipped to the store for free. I'm not in that ITC thing.
_taz_ 08-06-2008, 03:39 PM hmm... lost my subscription to this thread.
i checked the numbers you guys listed and they are not currently on ITC sale
bramlego 09-10-2009, 04:54 PM Is the 44991 Mini Mill still discount on the ITC?
