Surjit 04-17-2009, 12:54 AM The Cheep and Best program for WIRE is BOBcad' Bobwire , I am using it for 10 years for 2 and 4 axis without any problem Turk88 04-20-2009, 01:52 PM The Cheep and Best program for WIRE is BOBcad' Bobwire , I am using it for 10 years for 2 and 4 axis without any problem I think that is quite subjective. cadcam 04-20-2009, 03:42 PM Mouldmaker, are you all ready using Mastercam for your Mill for your moulds? If you are it would be a good Idea to add to your existing seat of wire. I have used many a times. John@CRDM 04-21-2009, 05:07 AM We use it....Its ok....nothing special. We use it because we use MCAM for Milling as well but as a stand alone EDM package I dont think its particularly user freindly Turk88 04-21-2009, 06:10 AM We also use it from time to time. We use it because we have Mill and lathe as well. Steve Arteman 04-22-2009, 09:26 AM I think it really depends on your machine but Mastercam is pretty simple to use for wire Make sure you can get a post some of the other software look real good on the screen but when you go to post and make the g-code it is another story have the software company do a program for your machine see how it works. If you go with mastercam I will do custom training videos. Steve Arteman steve@cad2cam.net www.cad2cam.net Mike Mattera 04-22-2009, 10:11 AM It always comes down to posts. What kind of machine do you have. I'd love to see Bobcad do an Agie. Mastercam has some good posts and is pretty easy to use. Very cheap to add to your existing seat also. Mike Mattera Tips For Mfg. CNC_BOB 04-30-2009, 10:36 AM we use MC9 for our fANUC 5 axis wire ( have MCX, just starting to switch) and although we do not do much 4 axis work it always seems to do the job, there is just a lot of manual editing after posting i.e. thread point, corner control etc. that seems to take alot of time |
