I know this has been asked a million times already, but my eyes are sore from trying to go thru a 100 pages of searching .

I am looking at getting a cnc mill setup, x3 size,turnkey, the tormach is way out of my price range.
I'd do a conversion, but due to my location I would have to order just about everything :(
I know Syil was offering a x3 cnc setup, but dont see it on the order site anymore , I got about 6k to spend total , for software,tooling etc, 4 axis if possible?I seen the kx3?

Look into the KX3, it looks like it would be a complete set up for you. You also may want too look at a Taig CNC Ready machine that will come with everything.

I keep seeing the recommendation not to get a round column mill...Is there something intrinsically wrong with them?

If you want a drilling machine then a round column will suffice.
If you want a milling machine forget the round one. Many shortcomaings in a practical world. Round thing is cheaper, but at what saving. Give it a value.

The X4 looks like one hell of a machine.

Does anyone know what the US price will be? It looks from the Australian and Canadian websites its likely going to be in the US$6500 range when it does arrive. If that holds true, as nice as it is, it will likely be sort of irrelevant for two reasons;
First is that it would be the same price as a Tormach at that point and so would not likely win out in any head-to-head comparison for those buying mills in that price range.
Second is that it would be the same price as a Tormach which puts it well out of the price range of most hobbyists, which is why we have so few Tormach owners in the first place and so few competing mills in that price sector.
It's too bad, because it looks like a very useful mill.

I checked the syil.ca site, a fully optioned x4- only 3 options , flood coolant, 4 axiz and stand runs , 6500 usd , one with out the options runs 5500.usd not bad ,a fully optioned x3 runs 6000 usd,but shipping is gonna kill me ,plus bits,etc, but better getting off a better machine then trying to work around short comings, any reviews on the x4?
