My auto drawbar started whistling and ran the compressor dry. The culprit was a little plastic air valve in the Taiwan 3/8" impact wrench they used. No problem, just order parts, right? Well, $30 shipping for $7 worth of parts seemed outlandish, and these little parts aren't exactly a stocked item at the fix it centers. Better to just buy a new cheapo impact wrench right? Wrong.
The adapter is specifically made for this manufacturers (Jet0 style body. The valve actuater is made specifically for this length of actuater buttons on the impact wrench. Problem is, even Jet don't make this style body anymore. In an experiment I tried to install one of the valves from the cheap impact wrench I had only to find they must use a special device to compress the vaslve spring and insert the mess.
Can't take the cheapo back, it's trashed from adaption experiments. On to a Porter Cable with a nice meaty body that will let you hog material away to abandon. A few actuater buttons made so they work with the old Kurt actuater, and I'm back in business. What a total PITA and definately not worth the silly amount of money Kurt wants for a new one.
