I have run into this a few times before and just edited the code to suit my needs. I figured I would ask and see if there is a way to eliminate the need to edit.

Is there a way to make a hole or perform an operation to an existing hole without going through all the added tools? Let me see if I can explain this a little better. Here are the two most recent encounters I have had:

1. I am cross drilling an .070" hole in a cylinder that is off the centerline of the cylinder. I have put the cylinder in a square fixture and am going through hardened drill bushings in the fixture.

2. I have a part that requires a pre-drilled hole to be reamed.

Obviously, with #1 I cannot use a centerdrill. And with #2, I have no need for a centerdrill or a drill. What I have done in the past is just use the Centerdrill feature and then edited the tool info and speeds/feeds in the program. When I choose a hole-making feature, how can I eliminate these things so I can just use a drill or reamer?

Thanks in advance.

In Cam tree under Cam part:

Right click Milling tools.

Click Default(or Part if you only want the change for current file)>Tool Pattern

Pick Hole (or Reamer) and you will be able to delete the unwanted operations.

Save the file right away so it sticks.

I think others have altered lesser used processes to be a drill only command and left the Hole command intact with center drill. But since the processes cannot be renamed it may lead to confusion.

Good luck
