Which is better? I'm primarly machine 6061 Alu. I've been using Trico TC1 (Synthetic) with good results but it smells like sweat when it dries. I've heard the Blaser Blasocut 2000 Universal (Mineral Oil Based) is very good with no or "pleasant" smell but it is Mineral Oil based. I have never used any oil based coolant before. Will it leave my mill oilly and sticky? What is the difference with Vegetable Oil based (Vasco) and Mineral Oil Based(Blascut)?
Any educational info is appreciated. Thanks!

we use synthetic blend at the shop...I've heard it does make things kinda messy with oil based coolants..since its kinda thick of nature.

Hi, Seen and used both. We use oil but we also machine Mag parts on the same machine and synthethic waterbased will adversely affect Mag. My preference is synthetic as it is more Environmentally friendly though...

We use Rustlick WS50-50. Works good. But when it gets old... It smells like shrimp that's been baking in the Florida sun for a week. But we don't use a oil skimmer either, don't know if that would make a difference. Our service guy told us we could add a cup of bleach to it to take care of the smell. But i'm not sure if that would cause problems or not.
