Hi everyone, I've been in the background for a while just learning here and there with the pros on this great site.
I've been studying a way to build a plasma table myself without plans...I am putting one together myself that is simple to build as I don't have all the equipment to build a more sophisticated one like many of you can.
I have one question please?
If building a 4x4 table what size ball screws should I get??? I know the question sounds a little dumb but please bare with me :)
I say this because I believe that the ball screws and linear rods come at certain sizes as standards.
Also what thickness should it be??? 1"1/2 is enough?
What motors, controlers would you suggest?
I already have a list but I want to make sure I am on the right track.
Feel free to complement anything I might have missed.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert on this, and have never even built a table so may not be qualified to answer this - but I wouldn't use ball screws for a plasma table. Look at either using rack and pinion or timing belt drive. I believe a few people have also used chain quite successfully (even bicycle chain). www.candcnc.com have good looking motor setups. As for guides and stuff, have a good look around here you'll get plenty of ideas.
