Well some of you may have seen my experience with camsoft. Well it turns out their 400$ stepper board is the same board as DeskCNC, except they don't support the extra features.

So today i re-installed the board, setup deskcnc and wow it all works like a charm. Movement stops on limit switches, tool probing works and even my gantry motors are slaved. The 395$ board camsoft sold me to drive the spindle is not needed because of the pwm on the desk cnc board talks to my vfd perfectly.

The only thing needed to add icing on the cake would be the ability to use dual homing switches on the slaved gantry like mach 3.

So lesson learned, while deskcnc may be lacking in support, at least their product works, unlike other venders.

Next project is to hookup my mpg to deskcnc and see if i can get that going :)

Well got DeskCnc running great now, I;d have to say retrofit time was much better than camsoft.

I have Been talking to Carl at DeskCnc quite a bit, and must say his support is great. He is handling all support issues currently through his email, may take a bit of time but he is very help full.

I thought those boards looked the same (That is why I inquired on the other thread.).

IMHO the other vender should spend the time ( normally used to censor post.) and money ( From their advertising budget.) to improve there product!

Glad to hear the board was not a total waste.
