Ok guys, Saturday was a bad day in the shop. I went too go make my routine pieces on my Taig CNC mill (for my business) and I noticed all the part were coming out badly. There simple profile cuts/pockets. So then I started goign ahead and changing my actual drawings and recaculating my toolpaths in V-Carve Pro.

Yesterday, I thought it was the mahine, I cleaned, lubed everything etc. Then I noticed it's my rapids.

I don't think they ever went that high in EMC. Let me explain:

Whenever i designed a part in V-CarvePro, I made sure my speeds/plunge were at 7 or 9 in/min. Then when I used EMC, I would drop it down too about 50%, so actual velocity about 3.5-4.5 and I got good results. Then, my parts starting coming out all wierd.

I never thought, I think it's just recent that when it custs, the velocity read true but when "moves" too another area of cutting, it moves much faster. I always offset my pieces 1 in, when I would run the program: z-axis would move 1 inch @ the cutting speed, now it moves much quicker. My parts are all getting messed up because it's not going too the right positon, because of lost steps. It should not have anything too do with my boards or powersupply because i'm noticing this in EMC.

Why is it doing this all the sudden. I have been messing with my Hal file because I needed coolant too work, but only 1 line has changed, Nothing else from what I know.

I have no idea why and I need too solve this. Little nervous here:

Thanks,

-Jason

When you say your rapids are too fast are you talking about G0 moves?

I doubt that unless you changed anything that the program changed itself. More likely some change in your machine. If it is stepper based are you loosing steps? If so it could be friction, voltage or a combination...
